The Bible and Church Architecture Understanding the Sacramental Meaning of Church Buildings
When people say that their church looks "churchly," they usually expect color, images of saints and fine materials. More than just a cultural convention, properly ornamented Catholic churches depend on biblical theology of the church building as an image of heaven and image of Christ. This talk will explain how the Temple of Solomon, with ornament and proportions given in scripture, still provides today's church builders with inspiration as a foreshadowing of Christ's Incarnation and the salvation of the world.
