In recent decades, many new Catholic churches have rediscovered "traditional" architecture, including the reemergence of classical design and the making of new towns which foster community. This talk will explain how to "read" traditional architecture, understanding when it is done well by today's leading specialists, and how a church master plan can foster the Christian mission.
About Our Presenter
Denis McNamara is an author, educator and consultant specializing in the intersection of Catholic theology d church architecture, including its biblical foundations and the today's revival of traditional design. He has ght courses on art, architecture, music and liturgy in university settings for nearly 25 years, and is the author four books and many scholarly and popular articles. He has served as a theological consultant on numerous church and cathedral projects, including St. Michael the Archangel Church in Leawood, Kansas.
