All retirees are invited to join us on Thursday, May 15th at 10:30am for a pilgrimage to the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in KCK in honor of the Jubilee Year. Pilgrims can receive a plenary indulgence with a pious visit. Meet at JPII to carpool to lunch for good food and socializing and then to the Cathedral.
A week of Will! While preparing to perform one of William Shakespeare's most beloved comedies, guided by The Heart of American Shakespeare Festival's Education Department, we will learn how actors communicate with our bodies and use our voices to bring to life rich language.
In his Theology of the body, St. John Paul II called man’s body the sacrament of his soul, the visible sign of an invisible reality. Through the beauty of Shakespeare, we will experience that our bodies speak and can communicate both truth and falsehood.
Setting the stage...
Set into motion by a squabble between the Fairy King and Queen, two young couples and a cohort of amateur actors become hilariously enchanted deep in the forest by the Fairy King’s merry henchman, Puck. But be not afraid, “Alls well that ends well,” and our play concludes happily ever after with that most profound symbol of human unity, a wedding feast!
Our joy would not be complete without Mass, THE Wedding Feast!
