St. Mary's Food Kitchen is a non-profit organization that serves hungry people every day of the year. As of June 2022, the weekday meal average is 250 served and weekend meal average is 200 served. Located at 645 Nebraska Ave, Kansas City, KS 66101, it is one of the largest food kitchens in the Kansas City area.
St. John Paul II Parish provides food and service to St. Mary's Food Kitchen the fourth Friday of each month.

Our parish supports Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas through different monthly drives, such as home essentials, diapers, canned food, and clothing. Individuals and families are needed to help with these drives.
We also refer any individuals in need to contact Catholic Charities at 913-433-2100.

There are many incredible organizations that need volunteer help in Olathe and the surrounding areas. These organizations need help on an occasional and ongoing basis, from individuals and families. Below are a couple suggestions!

Olathe Pregnancy Clinic - This clinic opened in 2018, and needs many, many volunteers. Help with answering phones and receiving visitors, sorting & organizing donations, generally assisting visitors with their visit. https://www.olathepregnancyclinic.org/

Peace. Healing. Love. Comfort. Hope. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, all are welcome to participate in the Prayer Shawl group. Knitted shawls are blessed and given to hospice patients and to those in need within our St. John Paul II community.
To participate in our ministry, you will need the following materials: 5 mm Crochet Hook, measuring tape, scissors, any color yarn; #4 weight, 15 oz., approx. 723 yards.
